As he had received excellent care at both the Heath (Ward C2) and Velindre Hospitals she wants to help other Pancreatic Cancer patients in Wales.

Leanne and her friend Ross took part in the annual New Year's Day Race into the Sea in Saundersfoot this year in order to raise money for this cause. They raised £570

Leanne is a teacher at Bishop Gore Comprehensive School and her form, 7W decided to do a sponsored fancy dress walk around Singleton Park, Swansea on 19th May 2010.

The overwhelming support from friends and family has resulted in donations amounting to over £ 1,600

She lives in a small community, Hirwaun near Aberdare and on Saturday August 21st she arranged a Community Event to raise further money. The event went really well and everyone turned up regardless of the poor weather. Much to her relief! The amount raised was £550.

As her father was a retired fireman, she also received a donation in his memory of £ 360 from Aberdare and Hirwaun Fire Stations, from a sponsored bike ride that they held recently.

In total, she has approx. £3,000 to donate to Amser Justin Time, although some money is still coming in!

Further events include a concert in Rammoth on October 9th 2010 and a Night of Music in the Glan Cynon Inn in December.

Leanne said "From a small community like Hirwaun I am really pleased that we have done so well".
